Edmonton Oilers vs Washington Capitals
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
It’s hard to bet against a Connor McDavid-led team, especially one that has played in the past two Stanley Cup Finals, but this year’s edition of the Edmonton Oilers just isn’t very good. At least not yet.
Projected for 104.5 points heading into the season, the Oilers are only on pace for 86, which would be their lowest total since the 2020/21 season. The culprit, as is often the case with the Oilers, is the defense. While the team is seventh in the league in goals for, they are 30th out of 32 teams in goals allowed. They are also a very weak 4-7-2 on the road, where this game will be played tomorrow.
This is all to say that I really like the Washington Capitals on the moneyline we’re being given. The better team, playing at home. Works for me.
