Best Bet For Tuesday (November 18th): NHL Predictions
St Louis Blues vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
This wasn’t exactly the start the Toronto Maple Leafs were looking for this season, their first without last year’s leading scorer Mitch Marner. The Leafs have stumbled out of the gate to an 8-9-2 mark, but it’s not the subtraction of Marner’s offense that is hurting them – they are second in the league in goals for this season.
So if it’s not the offense’s fault, that leaves one other culprit – the defense. Ding ding ding. Toronto is allowing the second-most goals against this season, hence their mediocre record.
But there’s good news on the horizon. The Leafs are at home tomorrow night, where they are a very strong 7-4-2. And the only team in the league with a worse defense than their own, the St. Louis Blues, are in town.
Even with Auston Matthews in street clothes for the game, I still like Toronto to handle business Tuesday night at home.
