We’re usually in for a letdown in the weeks following a big UFC event such as last weekend’s UFC 322, but that is not the case this week. The promotion hosts their first-ever fight card in Qatar this Saturday, and they’re bringing out some big guns for it. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Qatar, I’ve got a winner for a main card welterweight fight. Let’s go!

UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs Hooker (aka UFC Qatar)
Main Card Start Time: 1:00 PM EST – (ESPN+)
After getting knocked out in two of his last three fights, career middleweight Jack Hermansson has decided the answer to his woes is to drop down to welterweight for the first time in his career. This is a classic move for a struggling, aging fighter – to change weight classes – and it rarely, if ever, works out positively (I see you, Jose Aldo).
A harder weight cut means less water in his brain to protect him from knockouts, and this week’s opponent, Myktybek Orolbai, is 10 years his junior and not only has some pop in his strikes, but he also excels on the mat and is a finisher.
