Washington Capitals vs Carolina Hurricanes
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
While it’s been 20 years since the Carolina Hurricanes won the franchise’s lone Stanley Cup, and it’s their only Finals appearance, the Hurricanes have consistently been a top team in the NHL over the past seven seasons. Well, you can make that eight and include this year, as well.
Carolina’s 11-4 record has them tied with the New Jersey Devils at the top of the Metropolitan Division, and their 22 points are tied for third best in the league. And the advanced stats like them even more, ranking them as the best team in the Eastern Conference and the second-best team in the league, behind only the Colorado Avalanche.
What’s worse for the visiting Washington Capitals, losers of two straight and six of seven, is that Carolina is deadly at home in Raleigh, going 4-1 thus far. So it comes as no surprise that the Hurricanes are my pick to win tomorrow, and Carolina on the moneyline is my best bet for Tuesday.
