We’re not even a week into the college hoops season, and we’ve already seen our fair share of solid plays. The TCE guys have hit multiple moneyline dogs, including a +1500 on UT Martin. The college basketball picks in this column haven’t been too shabby either. Today’s plays could be a disaster, and we’ve already locked in profit for the week. Matt Dewoskin ATS College Basketball Picks Record (Est 11/3/2025)
All ATS Selections: 13-5
Perfect 3-0 Cards: 2-4
North Texas at Loyola-chicago
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
North Texas and Loyola travel to the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL for a ‘neutral site game’ on Sunday afternoon. Loyola-Chicago barely got past Cleveland State on opening night at home, and then lost outright to a chippy Mercyhurst team.
North Texas opened the Daniyal Robinson era with wins over DII New Mexico Highlands and Northwestern State at the Super Pit.
The Mean Green come into this game with a more athletic roster, and their defense should travel for this one. North Texas brought in a new coach from Cleveland State, and he brought a lot of his guys with him. The Mean Green have an identity and a clear rotation already baked in.
Loyola-Chicago is coming off a game in which they really struggled to score. The Ramblers have a lot of new pieces and are clearly still figuring out their rotation and identity. Loyola-Chicago should have the crowd, but this isn’t going to be a lit environment. It’s way off campus, and the student section may not show up as strong for this one. Lock up the Mean Green to pick up a win and cover in this one.
Best Bet: North Texas -2.5
Idaho State at San Diego State
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
San Diego State head coach Brian Dutcher should claim his 200th career win with San Diego State after this one is over. The Aztecs also expect to have Reese Waters available for this one. Aztecs big man Magoon Gwath may sit out one more game, but there’s an outside chance he plays. Idaho State doesn’t have any injury reports available, but everyone made it through their first few games.
San Diego State opened the 2025-26 campaign with a 22-point win over Long Beach State that only saw 122 total points scored. Idaho State only managed 71 points in a win against San Diego on Friday. The game went well under the 152.5 point total. The Vandals now have to meet a nasty San Diego State defense in the Viejas Arena. San Diego State is known for its defensive intensity, and they’ll want to show out in their head coach’s big day. Idaho State just isn’t on their level.
Idaho State might not score 50 points in this one as the Aztecs’ defense chokes them out. This game should cruise under 139.5.
Best Bet: Under 139.5
Washington at Baylor
Start Time: 8:30 PM EST
The Washington Huskies head to Waco, TX, for a matchup with the Baylor Bears. Washington beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff by 44 points on opening night and followed that with a 14-point win over Denver later in the week. Baylor opened their season against UT-Rio Grande Valley on Monday and won by 15 points.
Washington enters the 2025-26 season with one of their better rosters in recent history. They brought in a couple of scorers from USC, have impressive size in the post, and have an adequately deep rotation. However, this is their first road game of the season, and forward Desmond Claude may miss this one. Claude is questionable with an ankle injury. Washington is already without graduate senior forward Jacob Ognacevic and JUCO transfer forward Mady Traore.
Baylor also has an injury they’re dealing with. Forward Justin Bodo-Bodo missed the season opener with an arm injury, but he’s been upgraded to questionable. He could make his debut for the Baylor Bears in this game, but his status is a bit up in the air. He’s been dealing with his arm issue for over a month, and news has been hard to come by.
Baylor looked a little ragged in the first half against UT-RGV, but appeared to tighten up on the offensive end in the second half. Point guard Obi Agbim has shown up as a leader for the new Bears. They’ll need to lean on Agbim to run the offense and contribute on defense. Baylor may struggle a bit on the inside with the Huskies’ size, but they’ll have an advantage in the backcourt. The environment should be lit, and Washington’s young big men have never seen a Big 12 arena before. Lock up the Baylor Bears to rack up a big win and cover.
Best Bet: Baylor -6
