The third night of the 2025-26 season isn’t quite as exciting as night one, but there are still a few solid plays on the board for college basketball picks. Short slates don’t mean bad slates. We’ve dug through the games on the college hoops schedule for November 5th. It took a little deep-sea diving, but there is a trio of plays that are worth putting hard-earned dollars on.

Alabama A&M at Indiana
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Indiana starts the Darian Devries era at Assembly Hall against Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs just played Blue Mountain on Monday and get to face the Hoosiers in their first game. This is a SWAC program on the second day of a road trip facing a Big 10 team with fresh legs. Factor in that this is Darian Devries’ regular-season debut at home, and this one could get out of hand.
Indiana has a transfer portal team that’s still getting to know each other, and that’s likely what they’ll do in this matchup. There’s no reason for Indiana to call off the dogs or let Alabama A&M get back into this one. The Hoosiers would like to send a message, and they’ll do so by blowing out the Bulldogs.
Best Bet: Indiana -27.5
Maryland-Eastern Shores at Georgia
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
The handicap here is actually really simple. Georgia just played and blew out Bellarmine by more than 40 points two days ago. The Bulldogs’ second game of the season? They get Maryland-Eastern Shores. The Hawks just played their first game of the season two days ago, but they went into overtime with Georgia Tech.
Georgia let their key pieces watch as the walk-ons finished off Bellarmine, while UMES had to play an extra period against a Power Five school. You can also make a pretty convincing case that Maryland-Eastern Shores is one of the 20 worst programs in the country. The Bulldogs won’t mess around, and they’ll absolutely wreck the Hawks as they tune up for some of the heavyweights they scheduled for non-conference games.
Georgia should win this by 40. Lock up these Bulldogs.
Best Bet: Georgia -29.5
Eastern Washington at Loyola Marymount
Start Time: 10:30 PM EST
This handicap is remarkably similar to the UMES/Georgia matchup. Eastern Washington just went toe-to-toe with UCLA in their first game of the season. UCLA is known for a physical style and grinding out possessions.
The Eagles will stay in Los Angeles and meet Loyola Marymount in their second game of the new season. Loyola Marymount played Lincoln (CA) in a game in which LMU won 83 points. Again, the walk-ons played while the starters and key role players finished a light workout.
EWU’s current roster isn’t as strong as it has been in recent years. They’re projected to finish around middle-of-the-pack in the Big Sky Conference this year, and only return a few players from last year’s squad. The Eagles also have a short bench made up of NAIA transfers and underclassmen. They lack the depth to really compete in back-to-back road games.
Loyola Marymount should also finish middle-of-the-pack in the West Coast Conference this year, but they have a roster with two returning starters, including their point guard, and a couple of high-major transfers. The Lions should also look a lot fresher staying at home and getting a workout against a DII school. Lock up Loyola Marymount to win this game by double-digits.
Best Bet: Loyola Marymount -7.5
