In last week’s survivor picks article, we locked in the Packers. That was a mistake. However, I also gave out the Rams and Broncos. Both of those teams won, and hopefully you did too. It’s ten weeks in now, and I hope you’re still surviving! We’ve had a winner every week and are looking to keep the action going as we advance in our leagues. Let’s take a look at the Week 10 NFL Survivor picks!
As a reminder, I’m giving out two locks each week, in case you’ve already used the first one. I’m also giving out a contrarian dog play that I think will hit to try and give you an advantage over your league mates!

The Lock: Detroit Lions
This week is different than most in the fact that a lot of the spreads are tighter. In fact, there isn’t a single double-digit spread like we’ve had in the past eight weeks. That’s right, the last time we didn’t have any double-digit spreads was Week 2. Without those strong favorites, it makes you think real hard about who to select for your Week 10 NFL Survivor Picks.
However, there are just a few large spreads, and one of them is the Detroit Lions. The Lions are 9.5-point favorites over the Washington Commanders. Earlier this year, this game opened with the Lions being only a 3.5-point favorite. However, after the Commanders lost Jayden Daniels last week, the spread quickly changed.
Both teams are coming off a loss. The Lions lost a divisional game to the Vikings, while the Commanders lost to the Seahawks. However, with all the injuries the Commanders suffered, this points more towards the Lions winning the game.
This is one of the games I’m most confident in among all the NFL Week 10 picks. It’s a great survivor choice if you haven’t taken the Lions yet. Dan Campbell doesn’t often lose back-to-back games, especially against backup quarterbacks. I don’t expect the Lions to lose here. Lock them in with confidence.
Another Confident Pick: Denver Broncos
For the other selection among our NFL Week 10 survivor picks, I’m going with another big spread. The Denver Broncos just keep winning games. They scored 33 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Giants. They obliterated the Cowboys 44-24. Then they clawed their way from behind to tie, and eventually take the lead and win against the Texans last weekend.
Now they’ll face off against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders just played the Jaguars pretty tough at home. However, this is at Mile High Stadium against a superior Broncos team. On top of that, the Raiders just traded one of their top receiving options in Jakobi Meyers, right before the trade deadline. Meyers was traded to the Jaguars, the team the Raiders just lost to.
With the team already looking ahead to next year, it’s possible they’ll stick around and annoy the Denver Broncos. However, I just don’t see them being able to win the game. Therefore, the Broncos are a great pick for your Week 10 survivor pool.
An Underdog Pick: Philadelphia Eagles
I looked at this slate and realized I like a lot of dogs. Do I trust my Chicago Bears to win after the big back-and-forth game against the Bengals? Do I trust the Panthers to win as favorites, especially after a big upset? What about the Patriots, Jaguars, Cardinals, and Steelers? Truth be told, I like the dogs in all those games.
However, my favorite dog has to be the Philadelphia Eagles. Fresh off a bye week, the Eagles head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The same Packers that just lost at home to the Carolina Panthers. I know the Packers tend to play to their competition this year. In games against tough opponents, they have done better and won. See Week 1 against the Lions.
However, with the Eagles getting extra rest and wanting to put their stamp on the NFC East, especially with all the turmoil to the other teams, I expect them to come out firing on all cylinders. This would be a big game for Jordan Love and the Packers to win, though I just don’t think they are there yet. On top of that, they lost their top receiving option in tight end Tucker Kraft. His backup, Luke Musgrave, is a talented player. However, Kraft was the alpha there.
Look for Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the plethora of receiving options to win this one. They’re a nice addition to my list of NFL Survivor Week 10 picks that I’m confident in.
