St Louis Blues vs Washington Capitals
Start Time: 7:30 PM EST
The Washington Capitals haven’t exactly come out of the gate on fire this season, scuffling along with a 6-5-1 record. Their offense has been the main culprit, ranking 25th in the NHL with 2.58 goals scored per game. And Alex Ovechkin might finally be starting to act his age (40 years young), as he only has two goals through the team’s first 12 games.
What’s keeping the Capitals afloat is their defense and goaltending, as they are only allowing 2.33 goals per game, the lowest rate in the NHL. Washington’s #1 goalie, Logan Thompson, and his league-leading 1.51 Goals Against Average and league-leading .935 Save Percentage, is penciled in to start tomorrow.
Oh, and the most important thing: the St. Louis Blues are really awful – the worst team in the NHL, in fact. Washington on the moneyline is my best bet for Wednesday.
