Two teams with almost identical records meet up tomorrow in Columbus, as the 5-4-1 Blue Jackets host the 5-4 Toronto Maple Leafs. Right on track for where the Blue Jackets were predicted to be this season, but a disappointing start for the re-configured Maple Leafs.
But we don’t care about who wins tomorrow or how these teams are doing; we only care about who is going to score. And I’m not going to get fancy with it – I’m keeping it simple and taking the top two goal scorers (and top two Expected Goals leaders) in the game. That would be Auston Matthews for Toronto (five goals but an EG of 6.1) and Kirill Marchenko for the Blue Jackets. Go get ’em, boys.
