Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics
Start Time – 7:00 PM EST
Most years, this game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics would be a good early-season measuring stick of two of the top Eastern Conference teams going at it. But, alas, due to Jayson Tatum’s injury, the Celtics are taking a ‘gap year’.
And while their 1-3 record goes along with that theory, under the hood, the Celtics are still a formidable team, with the advanced stats really liking them. My line for this game is, surprisingly, Boston -1.5, so the Celtics plus the points on the spread is my play.

Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons
Start Tme – 7:00 PM EST
Let’s stick around the East and head to Detroit, as the Pistons host the Orlando Magic tomorrow night. Much was expected out of both of these teams heading into the year, but they are struggling thus far.
Perhaps the oddsmakers haven’t noticed how much the Magic really are struggling, because they are favored in this spot. My line is Detroit -6, so the Pistons plus the points on their home court looks mighty fine to me.
