MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Tuff-N-Uff 149
Tuff-N-Uff Flyweight Fight: Maki Pitolo vs Armus Guyton
Card Start Time: Saturday (10/25), 10:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
One of my favorite spots on this card comes with a bit of chalk. While some might not like seeing negative numbers as they play the regional scene, there’s no reason not to get down with this UFC veteran.
Maki Pitolo has been on a rough stretch. After being released by the UFC, he’s gone just 2-2 and has been finished in both of those losses. However, one of those losses was to Eric McConico, who has since picked up a win in the UFC. The bets part of Pitolo is his ability to swing on the feet. Affectionately nicknamed “Coconut Bombz”, he knows how to throw them.
Standing across from his is an underwelming opponent to say the least. Armus Guyton has lost six straight martial arts contests between combat karate, bare knuckle boxing and MMA. His experimenting with other rulesets also shows us that he’s not really focused on honing his MMA craft. Additionally, he takes this fight on short notice. All of those things come together to paint a pretty obvious picture for this fight and makes the -240 odds look like a gift.
