I’m going to reasonably assume that my goal scorer parlay for today (Wednesday) hit, and that I’m entering tomorrow on a winning streak. That’s a totally reasonable assumption. For my NHL goal scorer parlay for Thursday (October 23rd): NHL Predictions, we’re hitting up the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, and the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Let’s go!
NHL Goal Scorer Parlay For Thursday (October 23rd): NHL Predictions
Chicago Blackhawks vs Tampa Bay Lightning
Start Time: 6:45 PM EST
The Tampa Bay Lightning were expected to be a top team this season because the Lightning are always a top team. But a 1-3 record (0-2 at home) isn’t the best start. And they also have the league’s most unlucky player thus far.
Center Jake Guentzel has a league-best Expected Goal total of 5.5. Yet he’s only found the back of the net once. Things are sure to revert to the mean for a guy who averages 36 goals a season, and that is surely to result in more W’s for Tampa Bay.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Colorado Avalanche
Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
Then you have your elite-level player who doesn’t need luck to excel. That would include former league MVP Nathan MacKinnon, who at 30 years young is still in his prime and still excelling at this thing called hockey.
The Avalanche are 5-0-2 to start the season, in no small part to the play of MacKinnon. He has an Expected Goal value of 5.1 and has scored in real life six times – right on schedule.
NHL Goal Scorer Parlay: Jake Guentzel + Nathan MacKinnon (TBA)
