NFL Survivor Picks Week 8

NFL Survivor Picks Week 8

In last week’s survivor picks article, we hit both our locks. Hopefully, that helped you advance in your NFL survivor pools. Our dog, the London Jags, really let us down. I did not expect the Rams to show up the way they did. It’s eight weeks in now, and I hope you’re still surviving! We’ve had a winner every week and are looking to keep the action going as we advance in our leagues. Let’s take a look at the Week 8 NFL Survivor picks!

As a reminder, I’m giving out two locks each week, in case you’ve already used the first one. I’m also giving out a contrarian dog play that I think will hit to try and give you an advantage over your league mates!

The Lock: Kansas City Chiefs

The second biggest spread this weekend and my top pick on my NFL Survivor picks for Week 8 is the Kansas City Chiefs. Some of you may have already used the Chiefs. Good for you if you got lucky on the three games they’ve won. They haven’t exactly looked like the Chiefs. However, with Rashee Rice returning last weekend and everybody coming together a little better, they’re starting to look more like the power house of yesteryear.

The Chiefs face off against the Washington Commanders, who will most likely be without Jayden Daniels. It’s possible they get both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel back. However, I’m not sure that matters with Marcus Mariota throwing the ball. He did not look very good or prepared last weekend when he played against the Cowboys.

The Commanders lost that game, their second loss in a row, 44-22. Their defense isn’t playing at a high level, and the offense has started struggling to run the ball. Combine that with the absence of star quarterback Jayden Daniels and facing a tough Chiefs team, and I’m fading them. Therefore, the Chiefs get the nod as my top pick for your survivor leagues.

Another Confident Pick: Indianapolis Colts

Another pick I’m confident in among my NFL Week 8 survivor picks is the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts host the best record in the NFL right now at 6-1. Last week, despite giving up a lot of yards and points in the second half when they had taken their foot off the gas, they looked like a 6-1 team. This wasn’t a squeak-it-out, get-lucky win. They controlled the game against the Chargers, winning 38-24.

This week, they play the Tennessee Titans. It’s the second game between these two this season. The Titans have looked somewhat improved from the start of the season. However, Cam Ward still has a lot of growth to do and still needs a lot more support than he’s getting.

When these two teams met a month ago on 9/21 in Tennessee, the Colts won 41-20. Now they face off in Indianapolis, and I see a similar result loading. They may not score as many points this time. However, a blowout is in store. Look for the Colts to get an early lead and protect it with mistake-free football, a good run game, and a strong defense.

An Underdog Pick: San Francisco 49ers

As always, I’m giving out a dog pick. It may be a small dog this weekend, but it’s one I feel very confident in. It’s been hard to know what you’re going to get out of the San Francisco 49ers. Brock Purdy has been out. Ricky Pearsall has been out. Jauan Jennings has been limited and missed some games. George Kittle is just returning from the injured reserve.

However, they still keep winning games. This week, they hit the road to Houston and are somehow 1.5-point underdogs on some books. I don’t quite understand that, as Houston has looked terrible. The 49ers are 5-2 while the Texans are 2-4. The Texans’ offensive line has been a mess, and CJ Stroud hasn’t had much time to throw the ball. On top of that, their best offensive player, Nico Collins, left last week’s Monday Night game with a concussion. Whether he’ll be able to hit the field just six days later is yet to be seen. However, I have my doubts.

Therefore, my contrarian dog pick for my NFL Week 8 survivor picks is the San Francisco 49ers. If you want a little bonus dog pick, and you trust old man Rodgers, this week he faces his old team, the Green Bay Packers. I don’t see any way the Steelers lose that game, especially coming off a loss. Mike Tomlin is very good after a loss.
