MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 20

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners

First Pitch – 8:10 pm EST
Rogers Centre – Toronto, ON
Broadcast – Fox

Here in the last game of the American League Championship Series, we’re going to take one last stab at the YRFI. There’s a couple of reasons for that one, but the first one is that the bats looked solid on Sunday. While neither team scored in the first, we did end the game with nearly a run per inning average. That number could have been a lot higher as well, with the Mariners hitting into a pair of double plays with the bases loaded and just one out. That’s a lot of good luck in the Blue Jays favor and I expect some of that to swing the other way here.

Not only is there offense that was swinging well, but we have a pair of pitchers that I don’t exactly trust with my life. George Kirby gets the ball first and he’s casually rocking a 7.07 ERA in the postseason. The Blue Jays tagged him for eight runs in just 4.0 innings last time he threw. Similarly with Shane Bieber, he got hit a bit by the Mariners – particularly in the first inning. In Game 3 he allowed a pair of first inning runs on a Julio Rodriguez dinger. I’m not sure if both with struggle again here, but I imagine at least one will.
