Daily NBA Player Props – October 21st

Alperen Sengun – Over 9.5 Rebounds (+110)

One of my favorite plays for opening night is the rebound lin e for Alperen Sengun. After averaging 10.3 last season, the books are only asking him to put up double-figures and giving us plus-money if he does. If you look at his numbers at the beginning of the season, that’s actually where he did his best work.

In his first seven games, he hit double figures in six of them. With players shooting off at the start of the season, he managed 18 rebounds on opening night last year and another 15 in the second game. Given those facts, I have no problem with him pulling down ten here.

Kevin Durant – Under 25.5 Points (-115)

Everybody in Houston is excited about the debut of Kevin Durant. While his arrival to the city is well-timed, he has historically not scored well when debuting for a new team. Of the five teams he has played for, he only scored more than 23 points once – and that was with the Warriors. In those five games, he’s put up an average of 20.4 points. Add in that they are playing the team with the third least points against last season and the under should be a lock.

Al Horford – Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (-110)

Nobody knows exactly what Al Horford on the Warriors will look like. However, we do know it is part of the Warriors’ ethos that they let everybody shoot those three-pointers. Last season they were third in the league when it comes to firing off from downtown, with 41.9 per game. Horford started last year with multiple three-pointers in four of his first five games. He finished his first 14 games with an 11-3 clip against this number. Let’s let him fire away here and hopefully find a pair of splashes.
