I picked the Seattle Mariners to win Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday, so naturally, they are currently getting the doors blown off them by the Toronto Blue Jays (12-2 as I’m writing this article). Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals
Start Time: 8:15 PM EST
We get some AFC North (blech) action this week on Thursday Night Football, as the first-place, 4-1 Pittsburgh Steelers visit the second-place, 2-4 Cincinnati Bengals. I say blech because this is the worst division in the NFL this season by far, with all four teams in the AFC North ranked as below-average teams based on advanced stats.
And while the Steelers have benefited from a weak strength of schedule and probably aren’t as good as their record indicates, they are a much better team than the Bengals. Especially a Bengals team working with a new quarterback, Joe Flacco (although he looked solid in his first game with Cincinnati). And a team with a quarterback almost as ancient as their own, Aaron Rodgers.
My line for tomorrow night is Pittsburgh -9, so the Steelers on the spread is my best bet for Thursday.
