On Sunday, we yet again gave you a winning first inning play. George Springer went ahead and cashed our YRFI bet on his first pitch in the bottom of the first. We’re back to having two games on Monday and that means even more NRFI bets for October 13.
With both the NLCS and the ALCS in full force today, let’s look at some NRFI and YRFI props for October 13. Come check out what we have cooked up for this slate of games.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 13
Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays
First Pitch – 5:03 pm EST
Rogers Centre – Toronto, ON
Broadcast – FOX
Although we scored on the YRFI bet for this series in Game 1, we’re looking to the NRFI here in Game 2. Some of that is because we have some pitching that I’m more willing to lean on. First to the bump is Trey Yesavage. The 22-year old rookie has been outstanding for the Blue Jays. He’s now been over ten innings without having allowed a run. That includes mowing down the Yankees with 11 strikeouts in 5.1 scoreless innings. The Mariners did pick up the win on Sunday, but their bats didn’t impress. For those reasons, I think we can trust Yesavage to get us through that first inning.
The bottom of the first shouldn’t be much of a sweat either. After George Springer ripped the first pitch Toronto saw over the fence, they failed to do much of anything else on Sunday. They managed just an Anthony Santander single in the second and otherwise had no hits. They also only walked three times, giving them just five total base runners on the day. That should be music to Logan Gilbert’s ears. He hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in an appearance since August and should be able to finish off this NRFI.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 13: No (-130)
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers
First Pitch – 8:08 pm EST
American Family Field – Milwaukee, WI
Broadcast – TBS
Despite not currently knowing who’ll get the ball for the Brewers, we’re still going with the NRFI in this one. The Dodgers did win the series 3-1 over the Phillies, but their offense wasn’t a big part of the reason. They scored just 13 total runs in the series (or 3.25 per game). Additionally, there was not a single run in the first inning all series. As a result, I’m not expecting them to get off to a hot start here either.
To close out this NRFI, we do know who will be dealing for the Dodgers. That’s Blake Snell, who has been the stabilizing force for this starting rotation. He’s thrown 13.0 innings this postseason, allowing just two runs and striking out 18. In his last outing, he fanned nine Phillies over 6.0 scoreless innings. He gave up just one hit in that outing. The Brewers have managed just six runs in their last three games and I doubt Snell is going to help them change that trend.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 13: Yes (-135)
