Week 6 of NFL action kicked off Thursday night as the Philadelphia Eagles traveled to East Rutherford to take on the New York Giants. Joe Flacco was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Cincinnati Bengals and will immediately take over the starting quarterback position this week against Green Bay. It’s a week full of exciting matchups and storylines. Let’s dive in and set our Week 6 NFL confidence pool picks.
Week 5 was a tough week to pick across Confidence pools all over. A lot of picks felt great, only for big comebacks to happen. It was a strange week across the league with obvious plays like the Cardinals up big before literally fumbling the bag and handing us the loss. The Patriots beating the Bills wasn’t something many saw coming. Myself included, even as a Patriots fan.
So, let’s move on to Week 6. It’s another tough week, with a lot of good teams playing each other and bad teams matched up. But time to regain our confidence and get back on top. Sunday once again starts with an early game. This time, it’s the Denver Broncos and New York Jets squaring off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Kickoff is set for 9:30 AM ET. Sunday action wraps up with the Lions at Chiefs. Monday action includes another overlapping double header. The Bills at Falcons and the Bears at Commanders. Only two teams are on bye this week, the Minnesota Vikings and the Houston Texans.
Week 6 NFL Confidence Picks
High Confidence Picks
1.Patriots Over Saints
2.Packers Over Bengals
3.Bills Over Falcons
4.Colts Over Cardinals
5.Broncos Over Jets
After their win over the Bills last week, the Patriots are feeling great heading to the Saints on Sunday. They’ve got a soft schedule coming up, and Mike Vrabel won’t let a big win get to their heads. This defense will destroy Spencer Rattler and company in New Orleans.
Joe Flacco beat the Packers once this season, but that’s not happening this week. The Browns’ defense is who won that game. Flacco is an upgrade from a low bar for the Bengals, but the Packers should easily roll at home as 14-point favorites.
Buffalo lost to New England on Sunday. That’s not going to happen again this week on Monday Night in prime time for a second week. I feel bad for the Falcons team that’s going to get all the Buffalo rage in this one. Atlanta’s looked good lately, against bad teams. Buffalo isn’t a bad day. Bills all day on Monday.
The Indianapolis Colts are for real, and the Arizona Cardinals choked it away against the Tennessee Titans last week. There’s one team you can clearly trust here, and that’s Indianapolis. Daniel Jones and his stellar defense keep the horses running.
To London we head, where the Broncos are coming off a huge upset over the previously undefeated Eagles. They are riding hot and are simply the better-coached team. I had faith in the Jets, but that’s gone now. It’s a bad team, with horrible coaching. They are on the fade list.
Confident Picks
6.Chargers Over Dolphins
7.Rams Over Ravens
8.Steelers Over Browns
9.Cowboys Over Panthers
I probably should have included the Chargers in the “high confidence” part, but injuries have them in the second tier. This is another case of one team clearly being better than the other. The Chargers are a good football team; the Dolphins are not. Don’t overthink it.
The Rams-Ravens preseason looked like a great matchup. Now, the Ravens have been struggling, and Lamar Jackson looks less likely to play. It could be Snoop Huntley taking snaps for the Ravens. The Rams are coming off a long rest and a loss last Thursday night. They’ll bounce back nicely as the Ravens limp into the bye.
The Browns just don’t win football games in Pittsburgh. They are on a 21-game regular-season losing streak to the Steelers when the two match up in Pittsburgh. Tim Couch was the last Browns quarterback to win a regular-season game in Pittsburgh.
The Panthers and Cowboys are a pretty gross game between two bad teams. I’m going to give the edge to the better quarterback here in Dak Prescott. He has this offense humming, and I don’t think the Panthers can keep up.
Toss-Ups
10.Raiders Over Titans
11.Lions Over Chiefs
12.Commanders Over Bears
13.Jaguars Over Seahawks
14.Buccaneers Over 49ers
Two of the worst teams in the league are the Raiders and Titans. The Titans have a coach and a quarterback, so they get the edge in this one. There’s no way Tennessee starts a winning streak.
Lions-Chiefs is probably the marquee game on the weekend, and it’s crazy to think the Chiefs could be 2-4 after this one. But the Lions are a great team, and the Chiefs just can’t put it together. Give me the kneecap biters.
Back to Monday Night, I’ll again take the better quarterback in this matchup. I’m excited to see Williams and Daniels face off on prime time. I could see this one going either way.
The Jaguars’ love has been real for me since the preseason, and we called them to beat the Chiefs in this article last week. Let’s run it back!
Tampa Bay and San Francisco is a crazy good matchup. Looks like more Mac Jones for the 49ers. Can he keep the run going? Probably not, but I’m not super confident in that.
