It’s nut-cutting time in the division series round of the MLB Playoffs, with three teams in do-or-die, win-or-go-home situations tomorrow (maybe four teams if the New York Yankees survive on Tuesday). One such team is involved in my best bet for tomorrow. Seattle Mariners vs Detroit Tigers
Start Time: 3:08 PM EST
As these words are being typed, the Seattle Mariners just put the finishing touches on the Detroit Tigers in Game 3 after a lengthy rain delay. So these will be a couple of tired teams when they are back in action in about 17 hours or so tomorrow afternoon. And the Tigers will be in a must-win situation.
But I do like Motown’s finest’s chances to push this series to a decisive Game 5 in Seattle on Friday. Despite getting beaten on Tuesday on their home turf, the Tigers are a pretty solid home team (46-35), while the Mariners are just ok (39-42) on the road.
Most importantly, however, is the fact that Detroit is sending out All-Star pitcher Casey Mize to the bump to start tomorrow, while Seattle hasn’t announced who will take the ball for them (it probably will be Bryce Miller, who had a disastrous season for the M’s). Advantage, Tigers.
