Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees

While it’s a bit surprising that the Toronto Blue Jays are up 2-0 on the New York Yankees in their American League Division Series, mostly because the Jays have a history of playoff choke jobs, it’s not a total shock. The fact that the Blue Jays outscored the Yankees 23-8 over the two games played this past weekend at the Rogers Centre in Toronto is the shocker.
The only good news for the Yankees and their fans is that the series has now shifted to the Bronx, where the Yankees are a different team. New York was 50-31 at home this season, the eighth-best home record in the majors, and they’re 2-1 on their home field this postseason.
Plus, I have more faith in New York’s starter tomorrow, Carlos Rodon, than I do in Toronto’s, Shane Bieber, who has been surprisingly good in his comeback this season, but has only made seven starts thus far.
But mostly, I don’t expect the Yankees to just roll over and die without at least putting up a fight in this series.
