NFL Week 5 Defensive Player Props – Best Bets
Our Favorite Sack Props
Maliek Collins – CLE (+178)
The Vikings are primed to give up a slew of sacks on Sunday when they head to London on Sunday. For one, they have Carson Wentz at quarterback who has been sacked nine times in his two games. Additionally, he has a depleted offensive line in front of him. Starting C Ryan Kelly, backup C Michael Jurgens, RT Brian O’Neill and LG Donovan Jackson – all of them will be out on Sunday.
If anyone is going to make good on those missing pieces, it should be Collins. The Vikings will be doubling Myles Garrett on Sunday, opening it up for Collins, who had 1.5 sacks two weeks ago.
DaQuan Jones – BUF (+162)
Jones is another player I think is primed for a sack this week. He has one in two of his last three games and has been in the quarterbacks’ faces far more than that. Now he gets a quarterback in Drake Maye that is constantly in trouble. He has been sacked 13 times, which puts him second in the league. He also has been knocked down nine times (3rd in the league) and hurried ten (3rd).
Our Favorite Tackle Props
Cooper DeJean – PHI – Over 5.5 Tackles and Assists (-135)
We have to lay a little chalk on this one, but it’s worth it to get DeJean at this projection. Over the last three weeks, he’s put up 26 tackles and assists, or 8.67 per game. While he came in under this number in the opening week when he put up five, he hasn’t since. Now he’s going to be all over Troy Franklin on Sunday and will likely need to get some tackles after the catch. He should get this number by the half.
Osa Odighizuwa – DAL – Over 2.5 Tackles and Assists (-110)
Oighizuwa might be the only thing that looks good on this Cowboys defense this year. They are giving up tons of points, but he has been all over the place. He hasn’t had less than three tackles and assists in a game yet this year. Plus, he exploded last week with three solo tackles and three tackle assists. Braelon Allen, Breece Hall and Justin Fields should all get enough carries for the defensive tackle to rack up enough again.
Our Favorite Turnover Props
Charvarius Ward – IND (+700)
Who is throwing more interceptions that Geno Smith right now? Nobody, that’s who. He’s tossed seven picks in his four games this year. Ward has as good of a chance at being the guy that snags on on Sunday. He leads the Colts in pass deflections with three despite not playing in Week 2. He hasn’t found an interception yet, but I like his chances to do it here.
Brian Branch – DET (+480)
Speaking of pass deflections, Brian Branch is top five in the NFL in the category. He has five on the year and is still waiting for his first interception as well. Sunday might be the perfect time to get one with Jake Browning tossing the ball on the other side. He has five picks over his last two weeks and is throwing an interception once every 16.8 passes. The Lions will be up big and that’ll force Browning to throw even more.
