It would be a quiet day in the sports world tomorrow if it weren’t for the WNBA. The dust has settled, and we’re left with two teams standing, both vying to become a WNBA Champion. Phoenix Mercury vs Las Vegas Aces
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The West was the best in the WNBA this season, as we have an all-Western Conference matchup in the WNBA Finals, with #2 in the West, the Las Vegas Aces, facing the #3 seed, the Phoenix Mercury. The Mercury ran over the league’s best team, the Minnesota Lynx, in four games in the semifinals, while the Aces needed overtime in the decisive Game 5 to get past the severely undermanned Indiana Fever.
While that performance left some doubt about the power of the Aces, the losses to the Fever were basically the only defeats they’ve had over the past couple of months. They were a juggernaut over the last half of the WNBA season, went 17-5 at home (the Mercury were only 12-10 away from Phoenix), and beat the Mercury the last three times they’ve played.
All of that – plus the WNBA’s only four-time league MVP, A’ja Wilson – makes Las Vegas covering the spread my best bet for Friday.
