MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Oktagon 77
Oktagon Middleweight Fight: Kerim Engizek vs Dominik Humburger
Card Start Time: Saturday (10/4), 12:00pm EST (Oktagon.tv)
This weekend’s Oktagon 77 is a loaded card filled with tons of big fights. At the top of the fight card is a pair of semifinal fights for the Tipsport Gamechanger Middleweight Tournament. My favorite spot on the card comes in the second of those two fights.
While Dominik Humburger’s run to the semifinals has been a fairy tale, I think it’s about midnight for this pumpkin. In each of his first two fights to get here, he was stunned early by his opponent’s striking. He rallied back to win after surviving the onslaught.
I think the chances of that happening a third time is unlikely. That’s because he now faces the Oktagon middleweight champion Kerim Engizek. Not only does he have the hand speed to hurt Humburger yet again, but he has the top control and cardio to make sure that he doesn’t let him off the hook.
Expect Engizek to get after it early and not allow the Czech fighter to ever get started.
