Best Bet For Wednesday (October 1st): MLB Predictions
Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees
Start Time: 6:00 PM EST
The visiting Boston Red Sox took Round 1 of this heated rivalry, besting the New York Yankees 3-1 on Tuesday. But that wasn’t a total shock, as Garrett Crochet was on the bump for the Sox, and he struck out 11 in seven innings of one-run ball.
Game 2, however, should be a different story tomorrow afternoon. Brayan Bello, while a solid pitcher, is no Garrett Crochet. The Yankees counter with lefty Carlos Rodon, who is having his best season in pinstripes, ending up in the top 10 in the majors in strikeouts and WHIP.
But most of this analysis comes down to where the game is being played – Yankee Stadium. The Red Sox have had unbelievable success in the Bronx, winning five regular-season games there and now a playoff game. I don’t think that luck will continue.
The Yankees are too strong at home (50-31) and have the better starter tomorrow. New York on the moneyline is my best bet for Wednesday.
