The Game of the Week sets up to take place on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 4:25 PM ET on CBS. Lamar Jackson and his 1-2 Baltimore Ravens head to Kansas City. They’ll take on Patrick Mahomes and his 1-2 Kansas City Chiefs in a game that’ll likely leave one of these juggernauts just 1-3 at the end of the day. Let’s take a look at this Ravens-Chiefs preview and predictions.
The Ravens have had a tough schedule to start the season. They played the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, destroying them in primetime. But late in the game, Buffalo charged back and beat them 41-40. In Week 2, they took out their anger on divisional opponent the Cleveland Browns, whooping them 41-17. Week 3, they were thoroughly beaten by the Detroit Lions 38-30, a late Ravens touchdown making the score look closer than it was. Their offense has been potent, scoring at least 30 points in each game, but on defense, they’ve given up 38+ to the Bills and Lions.
Kansas City has a massive case of a Super Bowl hangover. They stumbled into Brazil to open the season and got manhandled by Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh. Week 2 was a Super Bowl rematch, and while they didn’t get blown out like they did in the big game, they didn’t have the answers for Philadelphia, even at home, losing by a field goal. Last week brought them the smash spot of all smash spots on Sunday Night Football, easily cashing our bets in a 20-9 win over the Giants, forcing them to move on to their rookie quarterback.

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs Preview and Predictions
Patrick Mahomes Over 26.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
The Chiefs are on the verge of going 1-3 to start the season, as they face this tough matchup with the Baltimore Ravens’ defense. Mahomes has shown in the two losses this year that he’ll run the ball when he needs to. He ran for 57 yards against the Chargers and 66 against the Eagles. Baltimore’s defense was run all over last week as the Lions torched them for over 200 yards on the ground. The only game they faced a true rushing quarterback this season, Josh Allen, ran for 30 yards, eclipsing this number. The Chiefs will need to use Mahomes’ legs to have a chance in this game.
Baltimore Ravens -2.5 (-115)
These teams met in Week 1 last year. Lamar Jackson tossed a touchdown in the closing seconds to Isiah Likely in the back of the end zone to tie the game! But, after review, Likely’s foot was on the line, and the Ravens lost the game. The last three matchups between these teams have all been within a touchdown, and I think we can expect that again.
Baltimore is just the better team right now. The sky isn’t falling in Kansas City, but they’ve clearly got some things to work through. John Harbaugh and company have looked like the better team through three games, and it’s not been close, honestly. Give me the Ravens to control this game and come out with the victory.
