Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions

Sunday action is here with the Commanders Falcons Preview, Predictions and Picks. Which team takes home the week 4 win? NFL Week 4 Picks

On Sunday afternoon, we have a pair of teams desperate for some better luck. Although they came out on top last week, the Commanders are beat up and limping into Week 4. Meanwhile, the Falcons are healthy, but looked like one of the worst teams in the league last week. Who’s fortune is about to change? Check out these Commanders-Falcons predictions to find out.

The injuries just keep getting worse for Washington. After being without Jayden Daniels in Week 3, they’ll now be without Terry McLaurin and possibly without Jacory Croskey-Merritt this Sunday. The loss of Daniels wasn’t too devestating last week as they still put up 41 on the Raiders en route to an easy victory. While Marcus Mariota was able to make up that gap in the offense, we’ll have to see if the rest of the squad can pick up the slack for the other missing pieces.

The Falcons come in healthy, but they might actually wish they weren’t. Last week they went into Carolina and were embarassed by the winless Panthers by an absurd score of 30-0. They threw pick-6’s, went 0-3 on fourth down and turned the ball over a total of three times. As ugly as it all was, they are just one week removed from an impressive home victory over the Vikings. They’ll look to return to that version of play this Sunday.

Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions

Marcus Mariota & Jacory Croskey-Merritt – Combined Rushing Yards (+325)

We’re getting a little crazy with this play, but I like the run game to take off here for the Commanders. The Falcons gave up 110 on the ground to the Panthers last week, who had totaled just 162 in their first two weeks combined. Now we have a quarterback that can get out of the pocket and make things happen. Plus, while “Bill” didn’t get the early touches in the first game, I still believe in his potential and I think Washington secretly does as well.

Washington Commanders +2.5 (-115)

I know the Commanders are beat up going into this one, but I also think Mariota isn’t as bad as we’re making him out to be. Additionally, the Falcons are averaging just 14 points a game. With how much they struggled on the offensive side of things last week, I just can’t back the Falcons this week. Plus, with the injuries, we’re also a plus-number on this squad. I think they not only cover it, but they win outright.
