While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head oversears for LFA 218 from Tenerife, Spain for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 218
LFA Bantamweight Fight: Magomed Nazurov vs Gocha Shainidze
Card Start Time: Saturday (9/27), 3:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
LFA heads over to Spain for the first time in the history of the promotion. Their foray into Europe is loaded up with a whole bunch of hot prospects from across the pond. Perhaps my favorite of them comes from the 135lbs weight class.
Gocha Shainidze makes the walk on Saturday afternoon and puts his undefeated record on the line. He’s 8-0 and has shown off a mixture of quick hands and aggressive wrestling. The technique on that grappling should be the big difference maker.
That’s because his opponent, Magomed Nazurov, has also leaned on his wrestling in the past. However, Nazurov has not really faced anyone of any signifcance. In fact, his four opponents come in at a combined 2-0. As a result, I don’t think he’s ready for what Shainidze brings.
While the books are onto Shainidze as well, the number still has a lot of value.
