After a week off, the Octagon continues its world tour, setting down in RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, for UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes (aka UFC Perth) this weekend. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Perth, I’m going in on a heavyweight newcomer. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Perth
UFC FIGHT NIGHT: ULBERG VS REYES (AKA UFC PERTH)
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST – (ESPN+)
Not only am I taking a UFC newcomer with my underdog pick, but I’m taking a fighter going up against an Aussie (New Zealand-born), who will have the home crowd behind him. The newcomer would be Scotland’s Louie Sutherland, who has fought in PFL and Bellator, so the big stage isn’t going to be a totally foreign experience for him.
He’s facing veteran Justin Tafa, who has seen better days, as he’s dropped two straight (the last via T/KO), bringing his record to an underwhelming 7-5. Sutherland is bigger, faster, and has decent low-leg kicks, as well as some grappling and clinching skills that he can bring out if need be. But, more than likely, he’s going to swarm Tafa and knock him out.
