Last week’s Survivor Picks were both hit and miss. As the Bengals lost Joe Burrow and failed to cover, the Rams did cover for us. Hopefully, you were able to advance in your NFL survivor pools. This week has a lot of interesting matchups, and many of the spreads are such a toss-up. However, there’s still value to be found, and we’re ready to crush our NFL Survivor Picks for Week 3 while we continue our journey to winning.

Lock Selection 1: Arizona Cardinals
There are a couple of different options that I like for your NFL Survivor picks in Week 3. However, one of my favorites is the Arizona Cardinals. In their two meetings last year, the Cardinals one both of them. Now, the Cardinals have looked improved, especially on defense, and they likely face off against Mac Jones this Sunday. I say likely, as Kyle Shanahan has said Brock Purdy has a chance at playing on Tuesday, despite reports saying he’d miss 2-4 weeks.
Mac Jones looked good. However, in all of football, we’ve seen a one-game bump for backups. Whether it’s the NFL, college, or semi-professional leagues, a backup making their first start for a team seems to throw the defenses off. However, now the Cardinals have game tape on how they will use and utilize Mac Jones. I have faith Arizona will continue to move the ball on offense. They’ll also be able to take advantage of the 49ers and their injuries. Watch Brock Purdy’s health closely before completely locking this one in. However, I doubt he plays, and this is my favorite pick on the board.
Lock Selection 2: Tampa Bay Bucs
The Bucs face off against the Jets this Sunday. We don’t see these two play each other very often. However, I like this game for my NFL Survivor Picks in Week 3 because of the Jets’ situation. They started the season looking like they would be competing all year, going toe to toe with the Steelers. Last week, they were steamrolled by the Bills 30-10.
Part of the reason they lost so badly was due to Justin Fields’ injury. He left the game with a concussion and has already been ruled out for Week 3. The Jets’ defense hasn’t done itself any favors. They’re allowing 337 total yards per game and now face a team that averaged the most points last year. A full touchdown is considered a big spread in the NFL. However, seven isn’t enough to favor this Bucs team by as they’ll roll over the Jets.
Against the Public pick: Titans
The public is really buying into Danny Dimes (Daniel Jones) and these Indianapolis Colts. I get it. They’ve looked good, and few people believed in Dan Jones. Though, I have to tell you, had you listened to Old-Fashioned Football, you would have heard me say the Colts are going to surprise people. Now they face off against their divisional opponent, the Titans.
The Colts are 2-0. However, they picked on a struggling Miami defense, and then narrowly escaped with a win against the Broncos. Some may say they were given the win, based on the refs’ calls towards the end of the game. Currently, 78% of the money is on the Colts to cover the -4.5.
The Titans have lost their first two games. First to the Broncos 20-12, and then to the Rams 33-19. Their defense struggled a little last week, but it has a lot of potential. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward looks to be taking steps forward. It hasn’t been phenomenal yet. However, in a divisional game, and at home, I think they’ll put up enough of a fight to keep this one close.
