Day 2 of “win or go home” takes place in the WNBA Playoffs tomorrow night, as two more teams will have their backs against the wall in first round best-of-three series. Best Bet For Wednesday (September 17th): WNBA Predictions
Phoenix Mercury vs New York Liberty
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
So far, so good for the New York Liberty on their quest for back-to-back WNBA Championships, as they went and beat the Phoenix Mercury in their own barn on Sunday, 76-69 in overtime. Now the Liberty are one win away from this year’s semifinal round.
However, everything isn’t quite as good as it seems on the surface for New York. Two-time WNBA MVP forward Breanna Stewart injured her knee in overtime of Game 1 and was forced to leave the game. She was seen at practice today with a sleeve on her knee, but the injury isn’t considered serious. However, she is questionable to suit up tomrorow.
But that just allows us to get a better line for the game (plus I’d be surprised if Stewart doesn’t play). The Liberty are 17-5 at home this season, and I have this game lined up as New York -5. The Liberty on the spread is my best bet for Wednesday.
