Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season features an NFC North matchup between the bottom two teams of the division. On one side is a Chicago Bears team that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory last week in a come from behind loss to the Minnesota Vikings. On the other, a Detroit Lions squad still licking their wounds from their dismantling at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. Get up to speed on this contest with our Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions Preview and Predictions.
For the first three quarters of the season, it seemed Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears were going to be contenders. The second-year quarterback took his team into the locker room during halftime with a 10-6 lead over the Vikings. His defense stepped up to start the second half with an interception returned for a touchdown early in the third quarter. However, it all fell apart for them as Minnesota scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter on its way to a 27-24 win. Chicago faces a tough Lions team on the road this week who are looking to avenge an embarrassing loss of their own.
Detroit opened the season as the favorites to win the NFC North. The tides have shifted drastically after the Lions dropped their Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Now, Detroit finds itself the third favorite to win its division. Last week, the Lions offense could not get much going against a surprisingly stout Green Bay defense. The ever-deadly ground combination of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs was held to a combined 44 rushing yards. The leading pass catcher on the day was tight end Sam LaPorta who caught 6 passes for 79 yards. The Lions can’t lose another divisional game if they hope to stay competitive.

Caleb Williams Over 25.5 Rushing Yards (-108 via DraftKings)
Despite falling apart late in the game, Williams put together a halfway decent stat line last week against the Vikings that included 58 rushing yards on 6 attempts. His efforts were desperately needed given the fact that D’Andre Swift had trouble getting going. Swift averaged just 3.1 yards per carry and ended the night with 53 rushing yards.
