The UFC’s third annual event commemorating Mexico’s Independence Day, Noche UFC, goes down this Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. However, the level of talent on the card is a drastic drop-off from the first two editions of Noche UFC. Nonetheless, we’ll win money on it. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: Noche UFC 3, I’m in on a flyweight dog on the prelims. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: Noche UFC 3
Noche UFC: Lopes vs Silva
Start Time: Saturday – 3:00 PM EST – (ESPN+)
As I’m writing this, Week 5 of Dana White’s Contender Series is about to start. Which is a strange coincidence, because the dog I’m in on for Noche UFC 3 earned his UFC contract on Week 5 of DWCS in 2022 – Jesus Aguilar.
Aquilar has done ok since making it to the big show, going 3-2 thus far, with his losses coming to very strong fighters in Tatsuro Taira and Rafael Estevam. His opponent this week, Luis Gurule, isn’t on their level, having lost his only UFC fight thus far. But he hits extremely hard for a 125-pounder.
However, despite having only one knockout to his name, Aguilar can also strike effectively and possesses some power. But, most importantly, he’s a much better grappler than Gurule, who has poor takedown defense.
