Starting the NFL season off with a bad beat on my first NFL daily best bet of the year (Denver only won by eight, not 8.5 – ugh) isn’t a good sign. But we’re going to get it back tomorrow. For my best bet for Monday, September 8th: NFL Predictions, we’re off to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, for the first Monday Night Football episode of the year. Let’s go!
Best Bet For Monday (September 8th): NFL Predictions
MINNESOTA VIKINGS VS CHICAGO BEARS
Start Time: 8:15 PM EST
We get an NFC North rivalry match to kick off the season of Monday Night Football, with the hated Minnesota Vikings invading Soldier Field tomorrow night to take on the Chicago Bears.
Last year was another nightmare season for the Bears, as they went 5-12, their fourth straight season of winning less than half of their games. They’re projected to be quite better this season, heading into tomorrow night with a season win total over/under set at 8.5 wins. The optimism is mostly due to new coach Ben Johnson, who was considered the best coaching option on the market this past offseason.
The Vikings went 14-3 last season; however, they are expected to take a step back this year with a quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, who missed all of last season, his first in the NFL, with a knee injury.
Despite a newbie running the offense, I still expect Minnesota to win tomorrow night. My line is Minnesota -5.5, so I like the Vikings to cover the spread.
Best Bet: Minnesota -1.5 (-108)
Best Bet Overall Record: 271-256 (52%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): -($2,225.27)
Return on Investment: -4%
