MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Paris
UFC Paris Lightweight Fight: Bolaji Oki vs Mason Jones
Start Time: 12:00am EST (ESPN+)
For our SGP on Saturday, I’m leaning on some opposite skills sets from what you might expect. I lot of people see the grappling skills of Mason Jones and expect him to wrestle heavily. Everyone sees the power of Bolaji Oki and expect him to throw bombs, but I think we’ll see each of them have to dig into their bag of tricks.
Oki has actually landed a takedown in two of his three UFC fights. He took down Chris Duncan and Timmy Caumba – both happening when he felt like he didn’t like the looks on the feet. I could see that happening again and it’s not like Mason Jones has never been taken down.
On the flip side, I know that Jones likes to set a pace. He’s been over this mark in two of his last three fights and in three of five UFC fights overall. Also, one of the ones he came up short in was when the fight ended early due to an eye poke.
I think we see Jones try to push a pace and get Oki tired, and the Belgian fighter to react with at least one takedown. If we get that kind of fight, we’ll cash a nice looking ticket here.
