Week 1 action fires up again Sunday at 1:00 PM ET. The Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray head to New Orleans to take on Spencer Rattler and the Saints as part of the Week 1 kickoff on CBS. This game has one of the biggest spreads of the weekend, yet it is one of the games I’m most looking forward to betting on. So let’s dive in and take a look at the Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints preview and predictions.
For the visiting Arizona Cardinals, it’s the start of the third season of Jonathan Gannon as the head coach. They enter the year healthy when it comes to their offensive stars. Trey McBride was re-signed, and they nabbed a big free agent from the Super Bowl Champion Eagles in edge Josh Sweat.
For New Orleans, it was a change at head coach with Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore taking over. Derek Carr retired, and the team drafted Tyler Shough. But it’s Spencer Rattler who gets the Week 1 nod at quarterback. This team has a lot of holes and question marks, and is only favored in a single game this year.
Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints Preview and Predictions
Marvin Harrison Jr Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-120)
Harrison Jr had such high expectations in 2024, it would have been hard to ever live up to them. However, he turned in a pretty good rookie season. In Week 2 last year, Harrison Jr broke out with a 130-yard performance against the Los Angeles Rams.
Kyler Murray on chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr.:
“Honestly night and day from when we drafted him ’til now. I love where we’re at, now it’s just time to go execute.” 🔥

Harrison had his ups and downs, but went over this total in the final two games of the season and six times overall on the year. Now he enters year two, known as the breakout year for wide receivers, and gets to open the season against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints might be one of the worst teams we’ve seen in recent NFL history. Their secondary has been through the ringer and looks completely different. I expect the Cardinals to try and get Harrison worked in early and often as they continue to perfect the Murray-to-Harrison connection.
Arizona Cardinals -6 (-110)
This is honestly my favorite spread bet for Week 1. It blows my mind that a team like New Orleans, projected to be the worst in the league, is less than a touchdown favorite. I know it’s a home game, but this is a smash spot for the Cardinals. Coming off an 8-9 record, this is a team I see as a playoff contender.
It’s the third year of this coaching staff, and Kyler is confident. Their defense received massive upgrades in free agency and the Draft. And, they are playing against Spencer Rattler in this one. And just need to win by a touchdown? Give me this all day, and twice on Sunday.
