NFL Prop Shop: Top Week 1 Prop Bets

Betting on NFL props is a glorious place to be in 2025. There are endless amounts of options for just about any player on any team. Every book has different options and often different lines. Shop around and get the best line for the bet you want, and don’t forget to use those boosts! I’ve searched high and low to find my favorites for Week 1; here they are.

Travis Kelce Over 5.5 Receptions (+120)

Let’s kick the weekend off in style with a trip to São Paulo, Brazil. That’s where Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Los Angeles Chargers Friday evening. All jokes aside, Taylor being in attendance is part of the handicap here. Second game of the season, a standalone game on a Friday night. In front of an international crowd, streaming for free on YouTube. Oh, and Taylor Swift will be in attendance for the first game after they got engaged?

Give me everything Travis Kelce in this one. Patrick Mahomes will go out of his way to make his buddy look good in this one. The Chiefs are going to come out with a chip on their shoulders after getting waxed in the Super Bowl. They’ll be ready to prove a point. For the first game with fresh legs, I fully expect Mahomes to hyper-target Kelce Friday night.

Marvin Harrison Jr Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Harrison Jr had such high expectations in 2024, it would have been hard to ever live up to them. However, he turned in a pretty good rookie season. In Week 2 last year, Harrison Jr broke out with a 130-yard performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

Harrison had his ups and downs, but went over this total in the final two games of the season and six times overall on the year. Now he enters year two, known as the breakout year for wide receivers, and gets to open the season against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints might be one of the worst teams we’ve seen in recent NFL history. Their secondary has been through the ringer and looks completely different. I expect the Cardinals to try and get Harrison worked in early and often as they continue to perfect the Murray-to-Harrison connection.

Malik Nabers Over 75.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

If you told me I could only bet on one prop this weekend, this is the one I’m taking. Malik Nabers showed out as a rookie. He was impressive each and every time he touched the ball, and that was with the likes of Tommy DeVito and other Giants quarterbacks throwing him the ball. Now, he gets Russell Wilson to play catch with? Wilson isn’t what he once was, but he’s a massive upgrade from Drew Lock and Tommy Cutlets.

Nabers flew past this number in three of his first four games of his career. He battled some injuries, but down the stretch, he crossed the threshold in three of his last five games. In the Week 2 matchup against these Washington Commanders, Nabers caught the ball 10 times on 18 targets for 127 yards. He broke out in year one, but look for him to build on that with a competent quarterback.

Jahmyr Gibbs Over 23.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Heading to this Sunday afternoon game, it’s a new era in Detroit. Ben Johnson now resides in Chicago, and John Morton is now calling plays for the team. I think he’ll lean heavily on Jaymyr Gibbs, as will Jared Goff. It’ll be a tough-fought NFC North battle against Green Bay and their new toy, Micah Parsons. Parsons will likely suit up for this game, and if he’s in there, he’ll get pressure on Goff.

Goff will look to his trusty check down like we saw with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley Thursday night. Gibbs hit this number in three of his last four games in 2024. He had 70 yards in their playoff loss against the Commanders. And, in both games against the Green Bay Packers last year, Gibbs cruised past this total.
