While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head overseas with LFA 216 from Cuiaba, Mato Grosso, Brazil for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 216
LFA Strawweight Fight: Lany Silva vs Aieza Bertolso
Card Start Time: Friday (9/5), 6:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
The main event pits a pair of the most hyped strawweight prospects the regional scene has seen in some time. The challenger Bertolso comes in with an undefeated record looking to grab some gold to go along with it. Standing in her way is Lany Silva, whose highlight reel head kick was the talk of the town after her last fight.
I like Silva to retain here and see a lot of value on her moneyline. While Betolso has some hands and can mix it up a bit, there’s a big descrepancy when it comes to the work on the feet. The first area is the speed – of which Silva should have an easy advantage. However, it isn’t just that she’s faster, but she also is more technical. The way she enters range creates angles that expose her opponent and she is good at getting away from the returns.
With all that being said, I also think Silva has an advantage in the wrestling. While she isn’t likely to take it there, it’s nice to have that ace of her sleeve just in case. And with all of that together, it really does feel like she should be a lot higher than -200.
