After a very quiet, boring week for MMA action, the UFC is back in action this week. And the octagon is on the road, meaning we’re getting a solid fight card. UFC Fight Night: Imavov vs Borralho goes down in the Accor Arena in Paris, France, on Saturday night, with French fighters in the top two fights. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Paris, I’m going for the dog in the main event. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Paris
UFC FIGHT NIGHT: IMAVOV VS BORRALHO (AKA UFC PARIS)
Start Time: Saturday – Noon EST – (ESPN+)
Saturday’s main event, despite being a middleweight matchup, should be a really good one – because middleweight is great again! Both Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho will have a more than valid claim to be the #1 contender with a win in Paris on Saturday.
And I’m going with the Frenchman (by way of Dagestan), and the dog, Imavov. Coming off a TKO win over former 185-pound king Israel Adesanya, he’s on a roll in the octagon, with four straight wins. He’s also fought a higher level of competition than Borralho.
I’m also concerned that just three weeks ago, Borralho travelled from Brazil to Chicago and cut weight to be the backup for the UFC Middleweight Championship fight. Then it was back to Brazil, and now from Brazil to France to cut weight once again. That’s a lot of wear and tear on the body.
