While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head overseas with One Friday Fights 122 from Bangkok, Thailand for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: One Friday Fights 122
ONE Featherweight Fight: Batochir Batsaikhan vs Harlysson Nunes
Card Start Time: Friday (8/30), 5:00am EST (YouTube)
There isn’t much MMA on this weekend. The UFC is off. Most of the larger regional promotions are off. The PFL is done for the year. However, ONE FC has an edition of their Friday Fight Nights coming your way. There are only two MMA fights on the card, but some value to be had in one of them.
Harlysson Nunes steps into the cage as a slight underdog, but I think he has the better potential in this fight. While his takedown defense leaves a bit to be desired, he is explosive just about anywhere the fight goes. So much so that in one of his recent fights, he was taken down only to score a KO from an upkick off his back. Even outside of big shots like that, he’s quick and likely the better striker in this one.
Batochir Batsaikhan seemingly would prefer to be grappling in this one. Despite his preference, he has shown some real issues in getting in on the legs in his last few fights. In fact, he lost his last fight with his opponent taking him down. If he can’t bring this one to the mat, we should see him outworked by the underdog.
