A split on our first inning action Sunday brings our record in the last ten to a respectable 7-3. We’ll look to advance those numbers and kick off a solid week with a pair of NRFI bets for August 25.
Monday has a slightly smaller slat with just 26 of the 30 teams in action. We dug through each of those 13 games to give you the very best NRFI and YRFI props for August 25. Come check out what we have cooked up for this slate of games.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – August 25
Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets
First Pitch – 7:10 pm EST
Citi Field – Queens, NY
Broadcast – MLB TV
Our first NRFI for Monday is a pitching matchup that I just couldn’t stay away from. Kodai Senga gets the ball first in this one. While he’s been a bit rougher since returning from his injury, it’s mostly been the second time through the order that has cost him. In fact, he has yet to allow a first inning run in the month of August and has only once allowed a second inning run. Although the Phillies have an offense that can hurt you, they weren’t terribly potent in their series with the Nationals. They scored just 13 runs across the entire series and never put up a first inning run.
The bottom of the inning will see one of the best pitchers in baseball right now. Cristopher Sanchez will toe the rubber and he’s been sensational lately. He comes in to action with a 2.46 ERA, and has somehow been better as of late. In the month of August, he’s posted a 2.05 ERA and struck out 30 in just 26.1 innings. Now he’ll get a Mets team who is fresh off a game where they struggled to put anything together against Bryce Elder and a skew of slumping relievers. Sanchez should be able to fing us three quick outs for this thing to cash.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for August 25: No (-130)
Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox
First Pitch – 7:40 pm EST
Rate Field – Chicago, IL
Broadcast – MLB TV
Perhaps the second option here does not have the name brand starters. However, it has two pretty good ones and one thing the last game didn’t have – ugly lineups.
The Royals get first hacks in this one, and they simply have not put up runs this year. While their record it solid, it isn’t from scoring a lot of runs. In fact, the squad ranks 28th in runs scored with just 3.86 per game. They also rank in the bottom third of the league when it comes to scoring in the first inning. Shane Smith will be the one looking to continue those trends. He’s put together a respectable 3.54 ERA in the month of August and should be up to the task.
In the bottom of the inning, we get another struggling lineup. The White Sox are one of three teams – along with the Royals – that are still averaging less than 4.00 runs per game at this stage of the season. Things will not be any easier for them when Noah Cameron gets on the bump. The Royals lefty has a 2.53 ERA on the season. He has been good at creating weak contact all year and should be able to get a quick three on this Chicago squad.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for August 25: No (-120)
