College Football is back! Week 0 is in the books. Iowa State and Kansas State brought us into the 2025 season with a Farmageddon classic in Ireland. Hawaii finished off the day by walking off the game with a YouTube kicker. What a time to be alive! Now, before Week 1 kicks off, it’s time to take a look at the odds and secure those 2025 Heisman Trophy Winner best bets.
We are in for a phenomenal season with stars like Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik, Garrett Nussmeier, and Jeremiah Smith all ready to make their case for who should be the 2025 Heisman Trophy Winner. Last year, it was long-shot Travis Hunter who broke out as a superstar playing both sides of the field and cementing his name in the history books. Winning the award is every kid who plays football’s dream of winning.
We just saw last year how a long shot can win the Heisman Trophy with Travis Hunter being 50/1 prior to the 2024 season. He burst into the spotlight playing both sides of the ball and took home the award, cashing a big ticket for longshot bettors. We’ve scoured the odds up and down the board, from favorites to longshots. Here’s a look at those odds, and the players I’m putting my money down on in hopes of cashing a sweet ticket at the end of the season on the 2025 Heisman Trophy Winner.

2025 Heisman Trophy Winner Best Bets
Jeremiah Smith – Ohio State Wide Receiver (+1100)
When it comes to the favorites, look no further than Jeremiah Smith. At 6-3 223 pounds, Smith comes with track star speed and freakish playmaking abilities. As a true freshman last year, he was almost unstoppable as he helped lead the Buckeyes to a National Championship. Smith caught 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. Five-star quarterback and Alabama transfer Julian Sayin comes to town this year. And I’m just Sayin’, Smith will be his favorite target.

Jeremiyah Love – Notre Dame Running Back (+2800)
From one Jeremiah, who played in the National Championship game last year, to Jeremiyah Love, who also played in the title game. The Notre Dame running back is the next best bet on the board. Derrick Henry was the last to win it for the position back in 2015. If someone can change that, it might just be Love. As a sophomore for the Fighting Irish last season, Love ran for over 1,000 yards, scoring 17 touchdowns on the ground. All while adding another 237 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air.

After a couple of stellar running back performances last year by Ashton Jeanty and Cam Skattebo fell just short because of Travis Hunter’s two-way prowess. This could be the year the running back’s name ends up next to the award once again. Watch for Love to show no mercy as he runs all over the Irish opponents in 2025.
Dante Moore – Oregon Quarterback (+3000)
Oregon hasn’t officially named a starting quarterback yet, but I think that Dan Lanning may be playing coy in that department. Austin Novosad is listed at 40/1 in the odds because of the uncertainty, but all signs point to Moore as the guy. The fact that he hasn’t been named the starter is offering us a little bit of a discount, so get it while you can.

Moore joined Chip Kelly at UCLA as a 5-star quarterback and started right away. He showed some flashes of his ability, but couldn’t put it all together. Moore transferred to Oregon last year and sat behind Dillon Gabriel. He showed the patience and maturity to wait it out and get his chance in 2025, and now here he is. Moore has an impressive ability to place the ball in the exact spot it needs to be. If he can run this Ducks offense to its full potential, he’s a guy to watch for this award.
Dylan Raiola – Nebraska Quarterback (+7000)
Staying in the Big Ten, Nebraska’s quarterback Dylan Raiola is the long shot I have my sights set on. Raiola models himself after Patrick Mahomes off the field, but does so on the field as well. He’s got the big-play ability of a Mahomes type. Nebraska opens its season Thursday night with a game at Arrowhead on the national stage. If Raiola wants to kick off a potential Heisman candidacy, that game is perfect to put himself on the radar.

Raiola has a fan base behind him that’s starved to be great again. Matt Rhule enters year three, the same year he made the biggest steps at Baylor and Temple. If he can take Raiola and make the Huskers a top competitor in the Big Ten with a shot at a playoff berth, Raiola’s flashy style could make him the long-shot winner of this award. The Huskers are quickly gaining national media hype with the SEC comparisons, and that also bodes well for Raiola.
