Last week wasn’t the best week for me betting on the WNBA. But another week is upon us, and with it brings a new beginning. Or something. Here are your WNBA predictions and preview for Monday, August 25th.

Connecticut Sun vs New York Liberty

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Connecticut Sun have been throwing a spanner in the works (as the British would say) on my WNBA bets lately, as they haven’t been totally sucking like they had for the majority of the season. According to the advanced stats, they aren’t even the worst team in the league anymore – the Chicago Sky currently holds that dubious honor.

And the Sun are hitting Brooklyn at the right time, as New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart is still out of action, and Sabrina Ionescu is questionable for the game. At full strength, my line for this game would be New York -17.5, so I think Connecticut is going to cover.

Best Bet: Connecticut +14 (-110)

Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky

Start Time: 8:00 PM EST

Which brings us to the aforementioned worst team in the league, the Chicago Sky, who will be hosting the red-hot Las Vegas Aces tomorrow night. The Aces have won 10 straight games and 12 of 13, no big deal.

My line normally would be Las Vegas -6.5, but that’s based on their play for the full season. They’re playing too well right now not to back them on the spread.
