Full disclosure – I’m going into this prop bet a bit blind since I’m writing this article before lines have dropped (Oasis is in town tonight – priorities, right?!). But betting on a five-time All-Star pitcher having another stellar season should be safe money, right?!
That hurler would be Texas Rangers starter Jacob deGrom, who has bounced back after countless injury-plagued seasons to make the Midsummer Classic once again this season. And at age 37, no less.
deGrom is up against the hapless Los Angeles Angels at home tomorrow night. Not only do the Angels have a crummy win-loss record, but surely related, their batters are striking out at the highest rate in the majors – almost 10 times per game. Even worse than the stinky Colorado Rockies.
So we’re going in on deGrom’s over strikeout prop on Monday. He’s regularly whiffing eight and nine hitters a game, so as long as the line is set around there, we’re golden.
