BOSTON RED SOX VS NEW YORK YANKEES
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
The Boston Red Sox vs. the New York Yankees has hardly been a rivalry this season, as after winning their initial meeting, the Yankees have now dropped five straight to the hated Sox. And now Boston is even ahead of New York in the standings.
But this is a player prop article, so the actual team performances aren’t really important here. However, it would help my bet tremendously if tomorrow’s starting pitcher for the Yankees, three-time All-Star Carlos Rodon, isn’t dealing tomorrow night.
I went into this column planning on taking the over on Rodon’s strikeouts for Sunday since the Red Sox are near the top of the league in strikeouts per game. However, the over/under of 6.5 K’s for Rodon tomorrow is too high in my eyes. He’s had under seven strikeouts in three straight games and five of his last seven starts. And he only whiffed five and four in the two starts against the Sox this season.
