Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 21

Joe Boyle – Lower than 4.5 Strikeouts

Joe Boyle hasn’t been near this projection for most of the season. In five of the last seven games, he’s fallen short of this projection. In that span, he’s averaged 2.86 strikeouts per game – nearly two strikeouts beneath this projection. The two teams that he managed to beat the projection against are both in the bottom six teams in terms of strikeouts. Now he’ll face the Cardinals, who rank in the top five instead. It’s hard to imagine that he’ll add St. Louis to the list of teams he picked it up against.

Sonia Citron – Higher than 16.5 Points

Citron has been on fire as of late. She is getting more shots and scoring more points. She’s been over this projection in five of her last six games, and it’s largely due to the larger output. On the season, she’s averaging 11.1 field goal attempts per game. In the month of August, she’s averaged 13.0 shots per game. More importantly, a lot of those shots are coming from deep. To make matters easier, she just posted 19 points against the Sun on Tuesday and there’s no reason to believe she couldn’t again.

Naz Hillmon – Lower than 9.5 Points

While Citron has been putting up buckets lately, Hillmon has not. She’s made it to double figures it just two of her last six games. She’s coming off a game where she didn’t score a single field goal and managed just one point. Now she’ll face Minnesota, who has the toughest defense to score on in the league. Last time Hillmon saw them, she scored just seven and that was before her dry spell.
