Being a degen is a core principle of our SGPN family. Well, what’s more degen than sweating out how many 180s will be thrown in a darts match? Or how many kills a player will get in Call of Duty? Allow us to introduce our Degens Only Play of the Day, a pick so obscure, it will have you friends questioning your sanity.
Every day, we scour sportsbooks and DFS sites for that one special play off the beaten path. Today, we turn our attention to the Friendly International Basketball 2025 tournament. Here we are looking for a team to continue to up their trend of keeping games close.
Friendly International Basketball 2025 Betting Pick: Degens Only Play of the Day
Spain vs Germany: Spain Over 76.5 Points (-115 via DraftKings)
Thursday, August 21st, 3:00pm ET
Spain is going through a rough patch in which they have lost three of their last four games this month. On top of that, they haven’t been able to reach the 77 point threshold once in that span as well. The books have this line pegged as Spain has averaged exactly 76 points per game in their last ten contests.
However, something about Germany brings out the offense spark in the Spaniards. They have managed to exceed this point total in their last five head-to-head games against Germany going back to the 2011 EuroBasket tournament.
Germany has allowed at least 77 points in three of its last five games this year. The Germans have let the Spaniards exceed this point total in each of the last five head-to-head matchups.
Another interesting angle here is to take Spain outright at +240 on DraftKings. Spain has beaten Germany in five straight games heading into this meeting. Although, given Spain’s struggles as of late, hedging with the spread here could be a wise play.
Good luck on this and all of your plays today. We’ll be back with another Degens Only Play of the Day tomorrow. While you’re here, check out some of my other contributions to the SGPN.
