Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for August 19

Tomoyuki Sugano – Higher than 3.5 Strikeouts

Sugano has never really been known for his strikeout stuff. Even back in Japan, he was more of a pitch to contact guy. However, he has been mowing people down lately. He’s had at least four in four of his last five starts. He also has met that mark in seven of his last ten. To make matters even easier on him, he’ll face the Red Sox on Tuesday. They rank 27th in the majors with 8.86 strikeouts per game. Sugano should be able to hang in the game and reel in four of those.

Sonia Citron – Higher than 16.5 Points

Citron has really come into her own in the last few weeks. Over the last five games, she’s cleared this projection in four of them. In that run, she’s put up 20.8 points per game. The more important thing is the increase in the amount of looks they’re getting her. With just 10.9 field goal attempts per game on the season, the 12.4 she’s taken this month looks great. She’s also hitting better from deep and it shouldn’t hurt facing a team giving up 86.8 points per game.

Michael Harris II – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

We’re going to keep riding this one until it doesn’t hit. It’s been ten straight games higher than this projection including four hits, two RBI and one run in game one of this series. In that ten game stretch, he’s blown this projection way out of the water. If you take all of his hits, runs, and RBI over that span and take the average, he’s looking at 4.7 per game. Now he gets another righty starter on Tuesday in Shane Smith, who doesn’t feel like the right guy to end this historic run.
