The New York Mets hit up the Nation’s Capital tomorrow to start a three-game series against the lowly Washington Nationals. The last time these two teams played, back in April, 24 runs were scored (the Mets won 19-5). Considering I’m in on a hitting prop on Tuesday, let’s hope for more fireworks.
The player we’re going in on tomorrow is New York’s All-Star shortstop, Francisco Lindor. Lindor has been on a tear lately, with 14 hits over his last six games, and multiple hits in five straight games. His 128 hits for the season lead the Mets and are the 20th most in the majors.
Expect that to continue tomorrow, as he has a career slash of .375/.375/.688 against Washington’s starting pitcher, Jake Irvin, and Irvin is not having a good year on the mound, bringing a 5.14 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP into the game.
