Best Bet For Tuesday (August 19th): MLB Predictions
Athletics vs Minnesota Twins
Start Time: 7:40 PM EST
Two teams that won’t be participating in the fun part of the season are the (West Sacramento) Athletics and the Minnesota Twins. However, at 56-70, the Athletics are technically having a better first season in West Sacramento than their last season in Oakland, as they only won 69 games last season.
But I don’t anticipate the A’s adding to their win total tomorrow as they start a three-game series with the Twins in Minneapolis. Despite selling off valuable assets at the trade deadline, Minnesota is still a better team than the Athletics (and they lead the season series 3-1). And, probably most importantly, the Twins’ best player will be starting on the mound tomorrow.
Pitcher Joe Ryan is having the best season of his career, leading Minnesota with a 5.0 WAR, and making his first appearance in the All-Star Game. The better team, with the better pitcher, playing at home – it all adds up to the Minnesota Twins on the moneyline being my best bet for Tuesday.
