While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Fury FC 107
Fury FC 107 bantamweight Fight: Mana Martinez vs Abdul Kamara
Card Start Time: Sunday (8/17), 5:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
Mana Martinez gets a chance to regain his Fury FC crown on Sunday night. The veteran relinquished his belt when he made the move to the UFC, and now he’s back to pick up where he left off.
While his time in the UFC was short, Mana was a super underrated fighter. In four fights in the UFC, he went 2-2 and was never finished. Not only did he make it to the cards, but in three of those four fights the judges did not agree. That just speaks to the type of dog fights he’s in. A lot of that is due to the fact that he can wrestle well despite his preference being to throw hands.
He’ll face the MMA Lab’s Abdul Kamara. While Kamara is an exciting prospect, he was recently KOed by an undersized Eric Shelton. I think he’s going to have trouble getting takedowns in this one, which would leave him having to deal with the quick hands of Martinez.
If that’s the case, I like the chances of this underdog cashing.
